Mesquite Fire Chief and Director of Emergency Operation Jayson Andrus released a phone number that local residents can call to register for the COVID-19 virus vaccinations.
The phone number 702-346-8446 is available the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday.
As soon as the vaccine allotment is known for next week, the website for vaccination appointments will go live at health.mesquitenv.gov/vaccinations . For those who don’t have access to a computer, they can call the phone number for help with appointments and completing the necessary forms.
For those who believe they are entitled to a vaccine in the Tier 1 lane, as outlined by Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, are encouraged to call the phone number to schedule a vaccination as soon as possible.
The Tier 1 Lane includes Health Care Workforce (previously Tier One), people 70 years old and over, Public Safety & Security, and Frontline Community Support
“Next week, we anticipate rolling out vaccinations to the public,” Chief Andrus said. “We have been told by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) and the state department of health that Mesquite will be told verbally next Monday and Tuesday how many doses of vaccine will be available for the week.
“Early next week, we plan to open registration for the number of vaccinations that we are being given. We don’t want to schedule a thousand people only to receive 500 doses and then we would have to cancel the other 500 appointments.
“Our plan, working with Mesa View and Eureka, is that once we understand our allotment next week, we will open up registration the first part of the week. In the latter part of next week, we will be operational in getting the vaccinations out. The vaccine allotment will change week to week based on what the state is given.
“We know it’s frustrating and we appreciate your patience,” Chief Andrus said. “We have been asked not to schedule more than three days out so this is going to be one week at a time. At the beginning of the week we will register people. At the end of the week we will administer the vaccinations.”
Mesa View hospital personnel will administer the vaccinations.
The vaccinations will be administered at the Rising Star Sports Ranch Fieldhouse located behind the Rising Star hotel at 333 N. Sandhill Blvd.
If you have any medical questions about taking the vaccine, you should visit with your personal physician before making an appointment.

Hey thanks Becky! Glad I saw this👍

This is to add clarity to the information given. Call the number early next week if you don’t have a computer. It will be easier and faster to register online. Calling the number before they open registration will do no good.
Donna Eads says
Just call the number list and they ARE NOT READY to take appointments for anyone at this time – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Do Not Call them.
