Most people have seen the homeless encampments in almost every large city. Visiting Southern California, the extent of the problem is everywhere. Pictures of other cities show the size of the homeless population. It’s in nearly every park, industrial area and vacant land, it is everywhere. Although most of these people are peaceful, the drug use causes them to become somewhat aggressive.
Unfortunately, these areas become no-go zones for most local citizens and sometimes can be scary especially when passing under a freeway bridge where the roadway is almost blocked with tents and litter. How many are there, no one knows and most cities understate the problem so they protect the city’s reputation and of course their own.
Most, or at least many of these encampments are what you might say on the others side of the tracks. But there is another story on the good side of town. Many hotels and motels are closed to travelers, they are fully booked up and they even have security to keep people away. But the establishments are still in business.
Full service is still provided with complementary 3 meals a day, laundry and other niceties such as a pool and a gym. These are not run-down facilities they are nice places in nice parts of town, they are just out of bounds for us. No, they are not some corporate retreat or training facilities. They are housing illegals who have been apprehended at the border or maybe they just gave themselves up so they could be sent to one of these places.
Can you imagine slipping into a country illegally and when they catch you, they put you up into more luxury than you had back home, 3 square meals a day, a pool and Laundry? All free to you but of course not to the American tax payer or their children. Oh, free schooling and medical care. A much better deal than we give our fellow American’s who are homeless.
The argument is they are awaiting processing, but our people are waiting processing that will never come and they are waiting in the streets and tents, if they can get one. Millions for outsiders who by our laws are criminals get more care and benefits than those American citizens living in the streets.
With these kinds of incentives, it pays not to be an American, it pays to ignore our laws and slip in illegally. In many states you do not get your car impounded if you are stopped and do not have insurance, but if you are illegal, you are good to go even if it is not your car you are driving. Makes you wonder whose car and how the owner is now going to get around.
Many of these illegals, upon leaving the U.S. government provided luxury housing will not be leaving the U.S. but competing against the American workers who are trying to enter the workforce. It seems the government cares more about illegals than Americans. Certainty more than those Americans living in tents inside our cities.
Bill Bishop says
This is an absolute lie. Name a few of these luxury hotels, Young and I’ll call them myself and report back. In fact, I need a vacation, name the luxury hotels and I’ll go see for myself. As to taking American jobs, who exactly is it that is fighting to mow your lawn and pull your weeds (and Ellestads too) in Sunset Greens?
And you should rewrite that thing about cars, it’s either incomprehensible or just plain moronic.

California for cars
Your insult about Sunset Greens is beneath even you.
David Petrillo says
We are in Las Vegas tonight and I can confirm that all the suites at Caesar’s are occupied by the families that pick our vegetables. No one else will do it so they had to offer suites. The only problem is that they have to fly them to California every morning. Such is supply and demand.
Donna Pakledinaz says
Please list your suggestions to take care of the problem.

Apply for immigration in your home country. Do not sneak across the border. You do not have the right to take (Steal) American jobs and recourses. Fix your own country like we settled this one against great odds and many died fighting for our freedom. Try standing up to fix your country not stealing ours. Vote for a president who cares about our country.
David Petrillo says
We did vote for someone who cares about the country rather than about their ego. The census shows that our economy will tank unless we grow our population. Since our birth rate is negative, we need as many new people as possible. We also need a path for full citizenship for those already here. Without these proposals, our country will die.
Gary Richison says
Sounds like you are a Native American, otherwise, my friend, it seems like it is all about you and what history you wish to acknowledge. As one former President loved to say. Sad
