Everyone has had to face numerous challenges this past year, including the present. Among these varied problems, and, or changes for most, the effect of this pandemic has altered emotions and overall thinking for much of the general public; some good and some bad. Now, we must learn from these times and be willing to search out the positives. If you find that you are still one of the millions that continue to struggle…then try to transfer those thoughts (feelings) into rebuilding the life you want; ‘Start Over.’
A new beginning in one’s life may not always be easy, but the willingness to do so can often generate an entirely new destination, employment, friends and more…for whoever is open to anything new (taking chances), in which life then presents itself; opportunities come knocking. First order of business is to stay positive, while reaching the depths of your soul and taking your best parts (talents) in order to enhance and refocus your energy; age doesn’t matter here. Also, what’s duly important is self-criticism; DON’T do it and beat yourself up. I struggle with this one, yet I know it doesn’t do me any good because it has a negative effect on my well-being. Use your strengths, and if you’re unsure what those might all be or look like, well, that’s what I mean by ‘reaching the depths of your soul.’ We all have it, strength that is, yet so many of us just become complacent; DON”T anymore. Have the willingness to change one thing in your life today, write it down (my hand works better than paper, I see it constantly LOL) and tell yourself every day that no matter what comes your way, you will deal with it in a positive manner. This does take work, don’t fool yourself;” been there done that.”
Anger, resentment of others and argumentative behavior should be resisted, especially since people seem to have lost their patience or spark for life today. This definitely has been one of the toughest years, so being ready, willing and able to move forward will no doubt bring you some peace; DON”T worry about things you cannot control. And I’m sure if you’ve driven on the roads today, or been in a store with long lines or maybe bumped into someone who is an angry person, it’s possible they could’ve altered how you were feeling prior to that happening. Don’t engage with negative opinions, in public or on social media; it has taken a toll on relationships all over, and again…Focus your energy on YOU. One thing that so many people do is talk about their shortcomings or others, not-to-mention plain old gossiping. If you catch yourself in a conversation with another and that’s the road it took, find a positive remark about the individual or situation. We’ve all been there, so let’s change it; at least try to. The more positive you are…the more good things happen. This is simply the truth and I am speaking from past experience.
As vaccines continue to roll out, it’s apparent that people are beginning to veer out of their comfort zones, while some choose not to. DON”T let fear run your life, but do continue precautions (sanitizing hands) when it comes to this virus. For many that are feeling loss and or emptiness, reach out if need be, there’s no right or wrong way as to how you handled this pandemic and still are; DON”T be embarrassed. We are all human, but know this…you have strength, we all do; you are still here. Build on that.
Take good care of yourself, build up whatever skills you have, grow in various ways…such as talents, topics (for conversations), and motivate others as you would yourself! It’s a new day, so get outside and use self-awareness; it’ll help with managing your feelings while aligning certain behaviors with core values; the timing is right for rebuilding your life. Let us try to understand one another and most of all…Be kind; respect will follow.
Make your life great!!
