Are all people on the right potential terrorists? The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a nationwide terror alert lasting until April 30th.
The alert warns of potential terrorist attacks from Americans who are “ideologically motivated” and have “objections to the exercise of government authority and the presidential transition. And other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives.”
The language used in this alert suggests that millions of Americans are potential terrorists. Those of us that support the Second Amendment would be ideological extremists. Included would be those that support right to life and government overreach.
Those that want to drain the swamp, those that want to keep taxes low and bring our troops home all fall into the class of potential terrorists. Essentially everyone who does not support the liberal agenda. If you are conservative or worst a Libertarian, you’re just the ones they need to surveil.
This also includes all of us that get their news from sources other than mainstream media or big tech. Even Fox News is under accusations that they fuel discontent. Maybe this local news source is one who’s readers need to be scrutinized, why because they continue to allow articles like this one to appear.
The “domestic terrorist” alert is the latest sign anti-liberty agenda is advancing. Additionally, we can expect legislation expanding the federal government’s authority to use its massive surveillance infrastructure and other unconstitutional powers against potential “domestic terrorists” and is likely to soon be brought up by the new liberal Congress.
The ultimate goal of those pushing for a crackdown on potential domestic terrorists is to make people unwilling to even consider ideas outside the liberal agenda — to make people so afraid of considering certain ideas that they stop listening and stop being willing to debate other ideas and points of view.
Former CIA Director John Brennan recently singled out libertarians as among the people the government should go after. In 2009, a federally funded study identified people who supported Ron Paul’s presidential campaign and certain Libertarian and Constitution party candidates as potentially violent extremists.
The very idea that libertarianism creates terrorists is ridiculous. They reject using force to advance their political goals and support non-violent debate and lawful elections.
Those who are tempted to support what is being promoted as a crackdown on right-wing violence should consider the history of government harassment of peaceful progressive movements of all kinds. The BLM protests do not count as violence because they are on the current government’s supporter list.
All Americans who believe in and treasure the Bill of Rights should gather together to stop this latest crackdown on liberty. This will be hard because the left has militarized the capital to prevent assembly and attacking any opposition as Terrorism. Maybe we have already experienced the takeover.

Mr Young,
Thank you so much for such a informative and intelligent commentary. It’s exactly what I think, but unfortunately not articulate enough to say or write. What I don’t understand is why Everyone can’t see that these agendas by the now powerful left are trampling over everyone’s rights. What’s that story? They came for the Jews, but I wasn’t Jewish…………

You’re right Mike, it maybe to late! With the capitol surrounded with razor wire and 8 foot fences the peoples house is no more.

Very well stated Mike. I am and have always a supporter of our Constitution, the Bill of Rights and the 2nd Amendment. I swore an oath to these documents when I entered the US Army back in 1968. Call or Label me a Domestic Terrorist if you like, but I will always do whatever is necessary to protect the Citizens of this Country from Tierney and Repression from Abroad or within. We the People are still here to defend Freedom.

Great opinion piece. Hope I don’t go onto the terror list by saying so.
